Launched in 2013 with the aim of discovering, promoting, and disseminating the work of visual artists with up to 15 years of career experience, the Award has selected talents over the course of its ten editions to participate in artistic residencies at important institutions in Brazil and abroad. Each year, the winners also took part in a joint exhibition at a special stand during ArtRio.

In 2025, once again presented by the Vale Cultural Institute, the FOCO Award selected three artists who exhibited at a 60m² booth at ArtRio 2025 and will participate in an artistic residency at a partner institution after the fair.

The artists were selected by the Curatorial Committee – formed by the directors of the residencies and by the curator and art critic Bernardo Mosqueira, creator and director of the FOCO Award.

The residencies will take place between November 2025 and August 2026.
